Lunch @The Grain Store

Hi pumpkins,
Sarah came over for the night, we decided to head for lunch at the Grain store for lunch after my work. :) poor thing gotta wait till 2pm. Must be awfully hungry at that time!
I dash to Grain store right after im done with work. Walk pass it a couple of times! Silly me! I tend to over look these hidden shops rather often! so, gotta be aware of hidden shops more next time! :p

The modern, sleek outlook! Me likey~ IF say, I've got a chance to open up my own cafe back in Malaysia. I would wanna have something that look like this! An open space that's welcoming, warm, and spacious!

The wide range of coffee

A panoramic view of The Grain store. Pretty rare to see this amount of people.. Say if u come during weekends. It can go crazily crowded.

My chai latte! :) It's been quite sometime since i had Chai. Absolutely smooth and rich in flavour! this makes me wanna try their coffee in my next visit! :)
My Honey Poached Milawa Organic Chicken ($19)    Chicken was sooooo tender! and i love the crispy beetroot. The flavour might be a lil over powered by spices. But it's alright for me!
Sarah's free range pork belly sandwich! there's spiced cauliflower, sweet and sour cabbage with chili marmalade. ($20)
like what Sarah said, u never go wrong with pork belly if you cant decide what to eat. Don't u hate it when you'r so spoilt with choices and had some hard time to decide on what to eat? hmmmm.. Wonder what can we do to get that improved?

Wooden floor. feels like home!

Dessert:  Lavandar and Buttermil Panna Cotta. (Poached pear, early grey, salted pepitas, SUGAR BUBBLES) $12     I LOVE IT!
presentation: 9/10
            taste: 7/10

Just feel like a little girl hopping around when u first taste the smooth panna cotta! :)

It's such a shame that we can only try the lunch menu. I've heard that the breakfast menu have got more extensive choices. Ricotta pancake~~ I will be there for ya soon! :)

Great company for this lovely afternoon! :)
I'm grateful to have friends like this!

Till then,
Xoxo

~Sunny Boy cafe ~

Got away from work early today! woohoo~ Hence, decided to walk instead of taking tram (which is my usual routine). One thing i enjoy being in Melbourne is explore hidden gems along the ally and lanes. It is full with surprises! like one of those hidden gems, when u discover them; it is beyond excitement. :) so, i wandered and came across this little shop in Gurners Lane. Do look out for a bright yellow bench at the front shop and u will find this hidden spot.

A long stretch of green plants with hints of flowers. The smell of spring i suppose? :)

Upon entering the cafe, i experience some rustic, homely atmosphere. U feel warm and inviting to stay in this place for the entire day! There's a bar bench on your left and a couple of small tables for individual on your right as u enter.
I totally love this idea! Sunny side up! Simple ingredients like spinach, bacon, egg and some sun-dried tomato! Probably we can make it ourselves too?

I ordered mocha and a sunny side up. The coffee was a tad bit disappointing. It still have some bitterness which doesnt favor me much. Sunny side was good! Warm and tiny for small eaters like me! :)

After all, it's a good place to hang out and take a break from the hassle city. Have some muffins and let your thoughts flow..

                             Till then, xoxo

dine in @ Ginza Teppanyaki

Ola~   Had no idea to eat on a sunday night? Walk around the city and search for inspiration! :) That's what i do yesterday. Which ends up getting an allergy reaction. :/ talk about it later!

Address: 139 Little Bourke St, MelbourneVIC

So, Ginza Teppankayi offers a range of set dinner range from $45 to $70. There's a wide range of variety that u can go for. From chicken *being the basic* to seafood and FRESH LOBSTER. and of coz, the price hike as u choose those finer stuff.  So what i have chosen was the $45 set menu which includes salad, miso soup, chicken, prawn, beef, vegis (your usual teppanyaki bean sprouts) fried rice and kungfu eggs.

Hang on a min! DID u just read Kungfu eggs? Yes u did! I guess the main reason teppanyaki is slightly pricey here is because, the chefs are the entertainer of the night. They do, fire performances, throwing blows. And Kungfu egg? it's like slide chopping eggs into your mouth and aiming customers by throwing bits of fried eggs into your mouth. Hard to imagine isn't it? well, that's the case! hahah..
Miso soup is bland, lack of content!
Forget about salad which is pathetically. soggy and weird. I observed that the rest of the people around barely touch it!
The prawns are big. But it just seems to be overly seasoned. Probably to cover it's staleness.
The beef is perfectly cooked thou! Juicy and tender!  medium raw is hard to find yo!
While the chef prepare the beef dish, the magic begins as le wild fire puffed! What's more interesting was this little boy who looked amazingly shocked! His expression is epic and i can't help to laugh even now while im typing it out. :p

The food was overly. Decent. But i wouldn't go back again. Unless. You intend to bring someone just for the entertainment. Other than that, the food isn't nice enough to go for a second go.

Besides, here come the bad news. I had allergy reaction as i got back. I would have think that it's due to the prawn! >.<  My eyes got swollen and i felt my throat got swollen as well!!!! Hardly able to breath at one point! *gulp* I got so panic and tried to call my mom for help but.. she's not around. Pharmacy was closed and i didnt know what to do!    Decided to drink lots of water thinking to flush down the toxic. * best that i could think of. Dont laugh!*

anyway. I survived.

That's about it! Till then, xoxo <3

stalks of flowers

Hi pumpkins,
I have recently bought from fresh flowers from south melbourne market and would love to share some of my pictures with ya all!     Spring is here finally! I guess that's the reason why the flowers has become rather affordable these days! :)
I have got some korean brownies from the korean store just across the street!  So here's some of the pics! hope u enjoy!

For the past weeks my weekend has been rather busy! lucky enough to have friends that bring me around to tulip festival and the much hyped sakura festival.
This week, I join my classmates Tania for some chinese style BBQ session. It was simple and warm. Met a couple of new friends and had lots of yummy lamb skews. I do find perks of being girls sometimes. U just get all the benefits to act freely and be yourself!
Yours truly on a bike. *Tania's garden, isn't it lovely to be surrounded by all sorts of flowers?*

Till then! xx

Have a good day! :)

part II of Fiji

We arrived at the airport about 8am in the morning, sort of missed the sunrise in the sky. *dymn* but the warm weather welcomes us! Finally away from the icy cold wet melbourne! Much excited isnt it?
Well, the enthusiasm is pretty much drain in the journey to our resort. Freaking 2 hours+ to reach! So, a friendly tip, unless you're not keen to go for snorkeling and cheap fresh fruits in Nadi. It is recommended not to stay along coral coast. Coz i do think it's slightly far from everywhere.. :/
Anyway~ our long waited sea view is finally here!
Pool view/garden view/ sea view. All in one :D

*dance with Hawaiian coconut costume*

One thing u gotta remember in Fiji, DRINK FIJI WATER! Well, apparently there's alot of celebrity who drinks it, coz it's unpolluted,, yadaya da U know it!  It is cheaper to get them from the local convenient stores than those that sell in resorts!

Picked up this tiny miny coconut. Probably 3ml of coconut water it contains?

So after 2 hours of waiting, (since we arrive early and check in time is suppose to be 2pm, the resort did provide use breakfast while we're waiting. It is fairly rare for resorts to do that. Coz, this means you've got extra breakfast!)
Proudly present you our room! :) Spacious aint it?

With a side bunk bed at the corner. From our balcony you can look through the ocean! Love it!

as we manage to settle down our luggage and wash up. We started out adventure and guess where are we?

The local convenient store! How cute is it!!! hahah They basically have most of the stuffs that u need, snacks, food, shampoo,  etc. U name it!

Apparently, this used to be the airport in Fiji. Korolevu Airport which now has been converted into Shopping centre.

Impressive ey? Say hi to our taxi driver Paris!   It reminds me of my parents' hometown back in Malaysia. Those rustic and old school kind of lifestyle. Where you've got nothing much to ask for and nothing much to worry about. :)

I was rather keen to find for Paw Paw as i did some research before i came to Fiji. Insisted that we gotta have some. So our kind driver, Paris drove further up. And guess what!? Lucky us! Found them within minutes! And we got 1 for 1 fijian each! :)

Our hauls on day one.

Time for the beach! Got our bikini ons. (well just to take pictures) :p

A Paranormal  view of our hotel

Lunch! we had salad. Seriously the sauce taste like. what u can experience in chinese restaurant. Oriental salad!

Did a lil stepping on our boat. Twinny!

After much effort of 'cycyling' this is how far we manage to get to!

CLEAR WATER~

So, we had italian food for dinner. I had some sort of pasta. while Yiyi had Seafood Marina. Flavourfullllll

Some awkwardly friendly resort staff with Kava. which is the muddy looking drink he's holding. Gulp. Didnt dare to give it a try. Coz it's suppose to have some sort of sedative effect.

Typical jump shot. *just to show ma flexibity* ahem

BULA, It's Fiji time!

Hi Pumpkins,

Reality hit me hard as im back to work and study life after my trip to Fiji.
To sum up the trip, it is GREENS with BLUE, turquoise sea!
It is so relaxing and chilly because it's still winter in Fiji. But comparing it with the weather in Melbourne. U cant ask for more could you?
This time i went with my classmate Yiyi, yeap. Just two of us! You can imagine, lots of girls taime! hehe.. :p

Bula from us girls! :)

The beach is just in front!

Crystal clear sand and water.  What can u ask for more?

Mini island stretch from the beach

Not so obvious sunrise on our last day in Fiji!

Me acting silly while walking along the beach! soooo windy~~

Spot birdy!?! :) we had fruit fiesta from our balcony!

LE jump shot! :)

Isn't it sweet to watch weddings like this? Awwwww~
