Lunch @The Grain Store

Hi pumpkins,
Sarah came over for the night, we decided to head for lunch at the Grain store for lunch after my work. :) poor thing gotta wait till 2pm. Must be awfully hungry at that time!
I dash to Grain store right after im done with work. Walk pass it a couple of times! Silly me! I tend to over look these hidden shops rather often! so, gotta be aware of hidden shops more next time! :p

The modern, sleek outlook! Me likey~ IF say, I've got a chance to open up my own cafe back in Malaysia. I would wanna have something that look like this! An open space that's welcoming, warm, and spacious!

The wide range of coffee

A panoramic view of The Grain store. Pretty rare to see this amount of people.. Say if u come during weekends. It can go crazily crowded.

My chai latte! :) It's been quite sometime since i had Chai. Absolutely smooth and rich in flavour! this makes me wanna try their coffee in my next visit! :)
My Honey Poached Milawa Organic Chicken ($19)    Chicken was sooooo tender! and i love the crispy beetroot. The flavour might be a lil over powered by spices. But it's alright for me!
Sarah's free range pork belly sandwich! there's spiced cauliflower, sweet and sour cabbage with chili marmalade. ($20)
like what Sarah said, u never go wrong with pork belly if you cant decide what to eat. Don't u hate it when you'r so spoilt with choices and had some hard time to decide on what to eat? hmmmm.. Wonder what can we do to get that improved?

Wooden floor. feels like home!

Dessert:  Lavandar and Buttermil Panna Cotta. (Poached pear, early grey, salted pepitas, SUGAR BUBBLES) $12     I LOVE IT!
presentation: 9/10
            taste: 7/10

Just feel like a little girl hopping around when u first taste the smooth panna cotta! :)

It's such a shame that we can only try the lunch menu. I've heard that the breakfast menu have got more extensive choices. Ricotta pancake~~ I will be there for ya soon! :)

Great company for this lovely afternoon! :)
I'm grateful to have friends like this!

Till then,
Xoxo

stalks of flowers

Hi pumpkins,
I have recently bought from fresh flowers from south melbourne market and would love to share some of my pictures with ya all!     Spring is here finally! I guess that's the reason why the flowers has become rather affordable these days! :)
I have got some korean brownies from the korean store just across the street!  So here's some of the pics! hope u enjoy!

For the past weeks my weekend has been rather busy! lucky enough to have friends that bring me around to tulip festival and the much hyped sakura festival.
This week, I join my classmates Tania for some chinese style BBQ session. It was simple and warm. Met a couple of new friends and had lots of yummy lamb skews. I do find perks of being girls sometimes. U just get all the benefits to act freely and be yourself!
Yours truly on a bike. *Tania's garden, isn't it lovely to be surrounded by all sorts of flowers?*

Till then! xx

Have a good day! :)

Dinner at Terra Rossa

Hello peeps!  This is a dinner post for Marcus's farewell! :) Our initial plan was to Cumulus Inc  along Flinders Lane. This restaurant does limited reservations. That's why we didnt manage to book any tables for eight of us! I guess places like this is slightly more suitable to go in smaller groups as the places are pretty limited. Cumulus Inc received many awards. Solely The Age Good Food Guide, Cumulus got in for four years consecutively!   I am highly anticipated to dine here another time! Hopefully i can give you all a glimpse of how it's like there real soon!! :)

Anyway, we wandered along Flinders Lane and found a couple of restaurants and decided to get into Terra Rossa Restaurant Bar.  The decoration here have a mixture of oriental and modern western twist. Fairly dark atmosphere. So if you dont fancy dark environment, this wouldn't be your first choice!

Woon Yin and JU!

Our entree.   Scallop with smoked ham. I quite like this one here because it's a familiar taste and you can never go wrong with ham!!

Other part of our entree.  I dislike smoked duck and raw beef. it's like chewy jerky with powdered spices! urgh!

Us! :)

The dessert menu.
So sorry that i forgot to take pictures of our desserts. Im too busy to dig in once they landed on the table. Heh.

BUT!

The Panna Cotta was REALLLY good! Gooey and rich! there's raspberry to balance the sweetness.

While i was walking back to my apartment! Bump into Mario and he was performing! Such coincidence that the Tram restaurant past by and i captured it!! yay! :)

Till then! :)

au revoir

Within two day of my arrival in Melbourne. My friend Marcus is leaving to Singapore. He couldn't manage to apply permanent visa. Thus, gotta leave.. :( i felt it's such a waste for this talented pastry chef! And i wont be having someone who accompany me for food hunting anymore! :/ Will certainly miss you much!!

Here's what i tried from Le Petit Gateau. Fruit tart i reckon. Can't remember the name. There's apricot and mascarpone with shredded pumpkin seed. Rather refreshing i can say! :)
Tasted a lil sourish! It's my type of dessert certainly!  Would definitely go back for this. We went to Le Petit Gateau a little too late.  Didn't manage to try Brownie and Passionfruit Chocolate Gateau! :( oh no!

Just a friendly reminder :  Come here earlier! they close at 5pm and don't open on weekends! Cool ain't it? :) Give it a try! :)

Here's the address :  458, Little Collins Street, Melbourne.
